A Final Word on Bob Vila’s 2025 Legacy
Bob Vila built something that outlasted his time on camera. The man who hosted This Old House in 1979 — earning $200 per episode on public television — created a brand that now reaches millions of homeowners daily through BobVila.com, tests and names the best tools on the market every year, and carries forward a simple idea: that ordinary people can learn to fix, build, and improve the places they live.
The Bob Vila 2025 story isn’t about a 79-year-old former TV host. It’s about a home improvement platform that still publishes the kind of clear, practical, no-nonsense advice that made Bob Vila famous 46 years ago. The mission hasn’t changed. The format has — from PBS to website — but the goal remains the same: teach people how to take on home projects with confidence.
The 2025 Tool of the Year Awards, the DIY guides, the product testing — it’s all Bob Vila’s original vision, still running, still useful, still making a difference.
